There are very few things that Cannon and Cason don't do together, in fact, other than going to different classes at Sunday School, BSF and MOPs, I can't think of anything they do apart. Well, Cason isn't old enough to go to homeschool gymnastics, so I sent Cannon with a friend and Cason stayed with me and Colt. He was SO sad.

Cason at 28 Months

Ya'll, I've kept up with monthly photos for three kids (that's 75 monthly photos since Cannon was born) and weekly photos for three kids (that's 132 weekly photos if you haven't been counting) and for the first time EVER I missed getting Cason's monthly photo. Poor second child. I have his monthly photos for the month prior and the month after, but I cannot find this one. I'm so sad.

Cason at 27 Months

Cason has been having a hard time staying in bed at night time. We sing songs, rock, tuck in, go potty and he still pops out SO MANY times. We've ever tried spankings and he's not deterred.

Health:

Cason woke up at 3 am and had thrown up in his bed. We did essential oils and kombucha and seem to have ousted the flu from our house. Cason didn't get sick again.

Milestones:

This is somewhat of an anti-mileston, but I wanted to share to encourage other potty training mommy's, because things don't always go as planned and definitely don't always happen in "three days." After two months, we finally put Cason back in night time diapers because we were tired of changing sheets. 

And Cason would like to show you his muscles.

I was crying and Cason came up and said, "Mommy crying? Mommy sad?" :-(

Cason repeats EVERYTHING! If I "Oh gosh," then I hear my little parrot saying, "Oh dosh, oh dosh, oh dosh, oh dosh." If I say, "Get down," Cason says, "Get down?" like a question. Everything we say is repeated back to us.

I feel like Cason's verbal capacity has exploded. He says word sentences, "Daddy's cup here!" "Watch this Mommy!" "Eat more cheese Mommy!" "Get paci now Mommy!" (when Colt is crying in the car). And yes, Cason's says everything with an exclamation point.

Cason at 25 Months

Stats:
We had Cason's two-year well child visit, so I have accurate measurements and stats.

Cason identified and called out "Chick-fil-a" as we drove by on the way to church.

Teeth: 

20 TEETH - all two year molars have at least popped a corner thru.

Likes: 

Gummi Bears are Cason's new favorite thing! He pronounces them "mummy beers."

Cason loves the color "yellow.'' He can usually correctly identify a color AFTER he's guessed that it's "lellow?"

Cason ALWAYS asks me to wipe his feet after I wipe his hands and mouth after eating a meal. I haven't figured out why, other than it seems logical to him to wipe down all appendages while I'm at it.

Dislikes: 
Cason does not like going to bed alone. He wants "mommy" to sleep with him or rock him and sing. I think this is a little bit just wanting some one-on-one attention after a long day of being the middle child. It's his chance to have some snuggles all by himself. Some nights I have the patience for "more, more, more" songs. Other nights it's two rounds of Jesus Loves Me and a few tears on Cason's part before I collapse on the couch.

Health:

Well, just like January, Cason started off February with a snotty nose that turned into an ear ache and pink eye a few days later. We staved off a visit to the doctor with Elderberry syrup, vitamin D & C, echinachea and essential oils. We did end up having a prescription calling in for pink eye though. I'm not one to mess around with that crazy contagious mess.

Milestones:

We celebrated Cason's second birthday on his birthday with cinnamon rolls for breakfast and went to the Watermark indoor play area with the Treadwells.

His party was that weekend with extended family (Papa & Nana, Aunt Mandy, Uncle Joey, Glammy, Uncle Chris and Mykie). We had a little Winter Wonderland Bash with a hot chocolate bar and chili with all the toppings. I made a raspberry chocolate bundt cake for dessert.

We started potty training Cason this month. I'll spare sharing all of his business on the internet, but let's just say he's doing fairly well. He was ready to do this for several months and I was putting it off because I felt like it was too much work with a new baby, but having only one in diapers is nice!

Cason at Two Years

Cason's current favorite books are "Little Blue Truck" and "My First Colors Board Book."

Cason's favorite toy right now is an empty, plastic vanilla extra bottle and lid. He will sit and screw it on and off over and over again.

Dislikes: 
We all dislike being sick this month! We are ready to be well and resume our normal activities and play dates!

Health:

Cason ran a low grade fever at the end of the year, which eventually turned into a double ear infection. He also had a crackle in his lung that the doctor said could be the start of pneumonia. The doctor put him on Cefdinir, which is a stronger antibiotic to prevent pneumonia. We were all sick for over a week at New Years and the boys finally went on antibiotics for ear infections.

Milestones:

Cason's BSF teacher says he's the best participator. He does everything! (Insert proud mommy moment here).

Cason loves playing "Peekaboo Barn on the iPad. He calls it "farm." If I put it on the Spanish setting he'll even repeat the names of the animals in Spanish.

Colt is Cason's favorite person EVER! His new greeting for Colt is to cup Colt's cheeks in his chubby toddler hands and say, "Hi baby! Hi baby! Hi baby."

Dislikes: 
Cason has had random nights where he's had trouble going to bed. He wants me to lay with him, he cries alot and he won't stay in bed.

Well, I got the first "are Cannon and Cason twins?" question, but I'm sure it won't be the last time someone asks that as Cason is quickly closing the gap in their size.

At almost 23 months we turned Cason's carseat around forward facing. We were on a long drive and wanted to play a dvd in the car for the first time.

You can have a full conversation with Cason. His side is just one word responses/statements, but he understands fully what you're saying and can communicate what he wants just fine.

He's also starting to put two words together to make a sentence: "Hi Nana!" "Mama eat."

18 teeth! The bottom two, two-year molars are coming through.

Likes: 

Cason LOVES LOVES LOVES holding Colt. The moment Cason wakes up, he runs around the house to find "Baby?!" The minute Colt makes a peep Cason starts yelling "CRY!" to make sure I know that Colt is crying.

And so here we are, after 21 months and recording almost 50 words and 25 signs, I'm throwing in the towel. Cason repeats EVERYTHING, so I'm not recording his new words any more. I can't keep up and that's such a fun thing!

I will record though that Cason started saying Cannon's name this month! It comes out "Nin nin" and it's the cutest thing ever!

Cason at 20 Months

We are trying to transition Cason to the big boy bed, and while it's working well at bedtime, nap time is another story. I've tried spanking when he gets out of bed. I've tried gently reminding him that he needs to stay in bed. I've tried simply putting him back in bed without saying a word. And I finally just put him back in the crib, at which he cried and cried and finally fell asleep. AFter seeking the advice of my Facebook mama friends, I finally just decided not to aggravate myself every afternoon and he now goes down for a nap directly in the crib. We'll work on transferring him to the big boy bed for naps in a few months.

Cason asks for more songs over and over again while rocking before bed. He'll request "blue" (Powder Blue by Renee & Jeremy) and "bible" (Jesus Loves Me) and say "NO! NO! NO!" if I try to sing something else.

Cason LOVES shoes. We usually leave our shoves by front door when we come in the house and he'll try on all of our shoes and clomp around the house in them.

Cason has LOVED cuddling these last few weeks. Before every nap time and bed time I can sit in the glider and sing song after song and he'll just rest his head on my shoulder and cuddle his stuffed animal. It's the best!

Dislikes: 

Cason HATES the cow mascot at Chick-fil-a. He was so terrified when he saw it that he started screaming and crying "NO!" and "HOME!" He ended up spending the last 30 minutes of our meal in my lap, burying his face in my chest. For days he would cry "NO!" when asked if he wanted to see the cow at Chick-fil-a.

Health:

Cason woke up from a nap this month with a fever. Cannon had the stomach bug that week (fever & vomiting) so we figured he had passed it on to Cason. I had been covering Cason in essential oils (Digestive Support & Warrior) and giving him grape juice to drink to try to ward off the germs. He ran a mild fever for a day but never got sick, so I would say we were somewhat successful.
