Baby Food Cooks
Every Wednesday night I get to hang out with the gals from home group. Some weeks we talk, some days we pray together, sometimes weeks we just play and we're hoping to have a girls' night out very soon because none of them have tasted the delicacy that is TruLuck's chocolate cake. And, eating chocolate and drinking coffee sounds like perfect night on the town for a group of wives.A few weeks ago, we took a Wednesday night to help Chesley make up several batches of baby food for Aiden. We came armed with our blenders and my camera and were greeted at the door by the Garcia Family Mascot: Mona. She's so small and scrawny that she's cute.
Chesley was prepared with fresh produce and a book full of recipes, so we cut, chopped, boiled and blended all night long.
Aiden made sure we didn't forget he was there, and Sarah and I played with him until he conked out when we left.
Boiling pears, blueberries and carrots to a soft mush.
Blending cucumbers, pears and blueberries to a smooth puree.
Freezing finished baby food in ice cube trays.
A little sweet potato action.
We had a great time hanging out, and now, all of us who are not yet mothers are ready to whip out the "I know how to make my own baby food" card when needed down the road.
