Preschool: Thanksgiving/Leaves Month (Week 4 & Recap))

We took a week off from Preschool for Thanksgiving.


The last week of November was suppose to be our "field trip" week where we raked the leaves in Susan's yard, played with the leaves on a parachute, and enjoyed the fall foliage, but Cannon and skipped so I could go to a photography workshop. So, I have no pictures to finish out our Thanksgiving/Leaves Preschool Month.

A few of the activities that I bookmarked, but that we didn't get to this month, include:

• Snipping Fall Foliage
• Painted Toast Fall Leaves
• Making an Alphabet Book out of Leaves
• Fall Printables from 1+1+1=1

Preschool: Thanksgiving/Leaves Month (Week 3)

This week in preschool our activities included:

• Reading: Thanksgiving & leaves books
• Thanksgiving/Leaves Activity: We made a Fall Leaf Wreath
• Sensory Activity: We water-colored coffee-filter leaves. (They turned out really cute I must say.)
• Slow & Steady Get Me Ready: Exploring with Water Play with a sponge, wash cloth cotton ball, paper tower in water to show child how things absorb water. Add color to the water and let the child watch the cotton ball change colors.

This week in preschool our activities included:

• Reading: Thanksgiving & leaves books
• Thanksgiving/Leaves Activity: We made a Fall Leaf Wreath
• Sensory Activity: We did Leaf Rubbings
• Slow & Steady Get Me Ready: Rhythm Band Music Played the drums on old containers with wooden spoon drumsticks.

We took a detour from the preschool activities to explore the activity board.

During which, Cannon was FASCINATED that Addi could open the little window and stick her hand through to the other side!

Preschool: Thanksgiving/Leaves Month (Week 1)

This week in preschool our activities included:

• Reading: Thanksgiving & leaves books
• Thanksgiving/Leaves Activity: Finger painted and then cut the dried art into leaves to put in pictures frames and on cards.
• Sensory Activity: Played with leaves, acorns, and twigs.
• Slow & Steady Get Me Ready: My New House
  
  

  Made a house out of a box. We've done this before but each time the kids play in it more and more!

We've seen before that Cannon is not the biggest fan of messes . . .

. . . and he couldn't quite understand why I kept smearing his hand in the paint . . .

. . . but eventually he warmed up to the idea when he discovered he could paint himself!
