All the mud!

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug
I have boys. I am learning to embrace the dirt, the constant grime on my floor and the relentless stickiness of my children's hands.

Daddy cleaned out the gutters this weekend the boys were in backyard heaven. All the mud, water and dirt they could possible want was at their disposal. Colt was clearly unimpressed, so he and I enjoyed watching their delight from the grass.

Summer Sprinklers

Isn't it a childhood rite of passage to play in the sprinklers in the front yard? We were going to go through the hoopla of packing everything up to go to the pool and Cannon asked to play in the sprinklers. So much easier and just as many laughs were had in our front yard as at the pool.

Backyard Summer

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug
We are a barefoot family. We LOVE the warm weather, shorts and the feeling of the ground under our bare feet. Our moods are better when it's warm and we've played outside.

After alot of hard work on Danny's part last summer, our backyard has become our personal playground. Every day we dig in the dirt, play in the sand or fly to the sky on the trampoline. I love that the boys can play safely while I fold a load of laundry. I also love that I can join them in their adventures with just a step out the door.

When the trampoline is our therapy

It is no secret that we are lovers of our trampoline. We are on it every day. Some days we are still in our pjs and sometimes we are doing good to have undies on, but we are jumping nonetheless. It provides fresh and exercise that is refreshing to all of our souls. We can be out of sorts and grumpy, but we get on that trampoline and are out-of-breath laughing within minutes.

I rarely bring the camera to jump because I need to connect with my boys face-to-face sometimes, but really, Cason's hair was just begging me to photograph it.
And yes, that did just happen. And yes, we all laughed and giggled all the more.

Sometimes life just looks like this: pjs all days, sippy cups, half-dressed toddlers, fireman hats and conversations between brothers on the floor.

And I remind myself to sit and soak it up rather than rush on to the next thing on my to-do list.

Just another day

This is a random photo dump from one of our spring days.

Colt has been joining us at the table for meals, practicing sitting in his booster seat in preparation for eating his own food one day soon. He LOVES his new vantage point and that he has two brothers ready to pick up every single toy he drops on the floor.
This is the daily scene in our house. I put Colt in the bouncer on the counter/table to keep him safe from smothering big brothers. Well, Cason is not to be deterred in showering Colt with affection. His determination combined with his fearless ability to scale any height finds him on top of my counter/table more days than naught. And yes, Colt was lovingly smooshed in the photo below. I swooped in to intervene instantly. It really is a wonder subsequent children survive in any family.
One last photo from our day: This is Cason's face when he realizes he's been caught drinking from the faucet yet again.

They call me "Mommy"

This is my life. Sunday snuggles. No make up. Glasses. And beautiful boys filling my arms, sitting in my lap and calling me "mommy."

Helpers in Training

Danny has been remodeling the entryway, mostly during the boys' nap times and after bedtimes, but occasionally the boys want to "help." And so Danny slows down and teaches.

Super Heroes FLY!

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug
The cold weather does not stop us from enjoying the trampoline. When we're stir crazy and the temperatures are frigid, we simply layer up, put on cozy slippers and jump. Super hero capes are an added bonus.
