DTS SWIM Retreat
When we first got to DTS, I was a little overwhelmed with all of the acronyms. SWIM, SWING, SF, DTS, ThM, MACE, Triple S, etc, etc, etc.
Usually, it's the Masters of Theology (ThM), I'm most concerned about. How many years do we have left in the ThM? How much is the ThM going to cost? etc.
However, last week, I got to forgot all about the ThM and ran away with Seminary Wives in Ministry (SWIM) on a retreat for wives of DTS students.
I spent a Friday night and Saturday at Mount Lebenon Baptist Encampment. I taught a coupon class (notes from which will be posted on the blog shortly) and thoroughly enjoyed talking "deals" with other wives. It was also a blessing and encouragement to eat meals and share conversations with faculty wives who've survived 35+ years, more years of seminary education and grad school than I wish to imagine, moving, and being a pastor's wife.
I can't believe I've been missing out on this retreat and resource for two years, and am just tickled pink that I still have two years left to utilize SWIM!
