Some Friends Hold Your Oldest Memories
As I've grown older I've learned to love and appreciate friends that knew me in my childhood because I will never get any more of those friends. There are very few people that can laugh about those middle school bangs because they actually saw them in person. Only a select number of gals can say "Remember at your 12th birthday party?" and actually recall specifics because they were there. What fun to recall ones childhood with friends who have grown and changed with you over the years.
The other day I was cooking from one of my cherished cookbooks - it's a little 3-ring binder given to me by one of my longest friends, Lindsey, as a party favor at her 10th birthday party. It's a personalized little book that makes me smile every time I open it.
And yes, she is one of the few that can attest to the fact that I had pet rats growing up . . . because she had them too!
