I never lived close to extended family growing up, so I can distinctly remember when grandparents would come from the holidays or when aunts/uncles/cousins would pass through town on a trip. Nana Alice would help me fill in the pages of my coloring book. Papa Gus would bounce us on his knee until we couldn't see straight. Uncle Rik would pull pranks, which was really not cool until he taught me to turn the joke around on my little brothers. Cousin Melissa played soccer with us in the front yard. Uncle Roy and Aunt Lois brought fresh crabs from Louisiana. Nana Marie taught me to crochet. Each visit was special. Every moment of play time was precious.

I hope one day Cannon and Cason look back on these photos and remember with a smile that time Uncle Chris and Mykie came into town and they got undivided attention for hours on end. I hope they remember that bliss was playing trains on the floor with family.
