Cason at 20 Months

We are trying to transition Cason to the big boy bed, and while it's working well at bedtime, nap time is another story. I've tried spanking when he gets out of bed. I've tried gently reminding him that he needs to stay in bed. I've tried simply putting him back in bed without saying a word. And I finally just put him back in the crib, at which he cried and cried and finally fell asleep. AFter seeking the advice of my Facebook mama friends, I finally just decided not to aggravate myself every afternoon and he now goes down for a nap directly in the crib. We'll work on transferring him to the big boy bed for naps in a few months.

Eating:

Likes: 

Cason asks for more songs over and over again while rocking before bed. He'll request "blue" (Powder Blue by Renee & Jeremy) and "bible" (Jesus Loves Me) and say "NO! NO! NO!" if I try to sing something else.

Cason LOVES shoes. We usually leave our shoves by front door when we come in the house and he'll try on all of our shoes and clomp around the house in them.

Cason has LOVED cuddling these last few weeks. Before every nap time and bed time I can sit in the glider and sing song after song and he'll just rest his head on my shoulder and cuddle his stuffed animal. It's the best!

Dislikes: 

Cason HATES the cow mascot at Chick-fil-a. He was so terrified when he saw it that he started screaming and crying "NO!" and "HOME!" He ended up spending the last 30 minutes of our meal in my lap, burying his face in my chest. For days he would cry "NO!" when asked if he wanted to see the cow at Chick-fil-a.

Health:

Cason woke up from a nap this month with a fever. Cannon had the stomach bug that week (fever & vomiting) so we figured he had passed it on to Cason. I had been covering Cason in essential oils (Digestive Support & Warrior) and giving him grape juice to drink to try to ward off the germs. He ran a mild fever for a day but never got sick, so I would say we were somewhat successful.

Milestones:

Cason can match up most of the shapes to the correct holes in his shape sorter box.
