Redneck Summertime Fun
What do we misplaced Texans do for fun here in South Carolina? Go slip-n-sliding on old air mattresses of course!
Everyone here in Columbia says it's the hottest place on earth. Danny and I beg to differ. When you go running at 6 a.m. and it's only 72 degrees outside - that's wonderfully pleasant to us. When the evenings cool down with a nice breeze and you can still ride with the windows open and not dehydrate from sweating, that's a mild July. However, we do feel at home here because the day does heat up nice and humidly. And, you are never to big to bust out the hose for some old-fashioned cooling off in the front yard.
Here is Danny's creativity at work, proving he's still very much fit to work with youth. Much thanks to Lynn for wanting to get rid of the air mattresses and for donating her front yard to such fun.

laura, which book is better: i married adventure or the one by e. elliot about family?
Oh man, what fun!! Glad to see you two are enjoying your summer days!
hey - i'm not sure who asked about the books, but here's my recommendation.
Don't read, "I Married Adventure" but Luci Swindoll - it's mediocre and boring.
Do read, "I Married Adventure" by Osa Johnson - it's old, exciting, and very well written.
"The Shaping of a Christian Family" by Elisabeth Elliot is a great book about how she was raised. If you are conservative and appreciate old-fashioned manners and respect, then you'll enjoy this book.
