A New York Easter

Danny and I celebrated Resurrection Day in New York with his mom and grandparents this year. Going to New York is always exciting. There's the fast-paced streets and the honking of taxi cabs. There's the parallel-parking just to go to the market on the corner. There's walking down busy streets in Manhattan. There's cemetaries and gravestones around every corner. And, sometimes, when you get off the plane from warm and sunny South Carolina, there's snow falling from the sky. Yes, New York started off our Easter weekend with snow, which was definitely a first for this Texas girl.

We had a wonderful time with Nan & Poppi - dying eggs, eating Nan's great cooking, hearing Poppi's stories, and enjoying their remodeled kitchen.

On Good Friday we went to Stations of the Cross at Nan & Poppi's church and then ventured downtown to visit the Apostle's Church in Manhattan. Danny met and talked with JR Vasser and another pastor, both DTS graduates, and was encouraged by their advise regarding seminary.

We drove around Manhattan before church and it looked like this: After church we grabbed coffee and pastries and then drove through Times Square and it looked like this:

Notice that this picture was taken at 10:00 pm in the evening and there are still people, taxis and lights EVERYWHERE!
We did stop to take a picture by the oh-so-exciting subway:

Saturday we went to Danny's cousin, Brianna's, 5th birthday party. They played in all of these blow-up toys. Here's Danny boxing with his cousin, Bobby. Danny won this fight, but lost later to Uncle Mike.
