Aggie Muster 2007

**Disclaimer: I am about a week behind in blogging. Muster was on April 21st.
"Softly call the Muster, let comrade answer 'Here'..."

Aggies are the only people I know who can put 25 strangers in a room together and enjoy bbq, memories, and great conversation for the entire evening.

Last weekend, Kelly drove in from the mountains of Tennessee for a good ole Aggie reunion. (Alisha was very much missed.) We had a great time shopping, relaxing, talking, relaxing, running, and believe it or not, relaxing even more.

Saturday night we gathered with other Aggies living the Midlands of South Carolina for Muster. If you don't know what Muster is, click here. This is what Muster looks like in Reed Arena, on Texas A&M's campus.
And, if you are an not an Aggie, well, then Muster might just be another crazy tradition you'll never understand. I'm sorry if your school wasn't as cool as ours.

The coolest person we met the entire night was Mr. Bob Wells, Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 1940. 87 years old, retired military, and full of stories. We couldn't help but ask to take our picture with him.

We gather here to mark the day Aggies proudly stand.
To honor those who've gone before to the promised land.
Each name is called upon the roll, comrades answer "Here."
Trumpets sound their sad good-bye to those we held so dear.
All heads are bowed in silent pledge never to forget.
While rifles fire their last salute echoes answer yet.
To their mem'ry we'll be true; we will take their place.
One for all and all for one ever in Thy grace.
We'll meet again another day, reunion while we pray
To ask Thy blessing on each one on this Muster day,
Aggie Muster Day.
