Catching Up With Life

So, where have the Stillers gone, you ask?

We've crawled into a hole because this whole go to seminary, work, have a marriage, get involved in church, work some more, and study is driving me bonkers.

And frankly - the thought of trying to blog just about put me over the edge. Don't worry - we've been out and about doing fun things and documenting it with pictures, which are lined up and ready to be shared with our tens of readers soon.

I don't know how moms with kids blog almost daily. Are their kids running around terrorizing the house while Mom sits at the computer in a blogging-bubble, only able to hear her own thoughts and they clickety-clack of her keyboard? Or maybe naptime is blogtime. Anyways - I can't even blog without kids - so why am I worrying about this?

Actually, I just needed to stop all things NOT necessary last week to catch up on the parts of life that matter. Those parts included eating, sleeping and having a quiet time. Yes, I needed to get back to the basics.

So, since you've last heard from us I tackled the dirty dishes in the kitchen (which always improves my mood from seething to just grumpy), vaccuumed all the new-carpet balls of fuzz off the floor, and finally moved the box of random odds and ends (you know - that box of stuff that you keep out for weeks . . . er, months, hoping you'll magically find a place fit all the unneccesary tidbits?) that has been in the middle of the living room floor into the office.

So, now when I sit on the couch I can't see an overflowing box of stuff we don't really need.

It's still there - but I can't see it. That improves my mood from grumpy to just plain tired.

So, if you come over you'll be deceived into thinking we're unpacked and settled. But oh no - I'll probably escort you straight to the office where we have a little path from the door to the closet and from the door to Danny's desk, lest you think I am a working, housekeeping, have-it-all-together diva.

Actually, I'm hoping that we'll keep the boxes packed up long enough to finally look at each other and say, "So, remember all those unpacked boxes we've been storing and stressing over for the last few months? Yea, we haven't even opened those boxes since we got here - let's just throw them out. Obviously we have not needed or wanted or even thought about whatever is inside them."

And that is how I imagine the Stillers will finally get this apartment in order.

aww, well, you fooled me because the apartment looked great on Saturday! You and Danny are getting it together, what's that verse in the bible, something about praising God when we face trials of many kinds, because we know that the testing of our faith develops perseverance, and perseverance must complete its work in us so that we may be mature and complete, not lacking anything?

So you guys are well on your way to developing perseverance! By the time you guys have kids...it's going to be good! God Good!

I want to cut and paste your blog to my blog...is that ok? Wow - we are in the exact same place! It has eased up a little this last week, so I will pray for you guys today that it begins to ease up on you two as well.

No worries - we moved in November (of last year) and STILL have an entire room full of junk. I recently brought over the remaining items that were still being stored at my mom's house, and now I can't even see the floor in there anymore!

Long way off I know, but Chris and I were planning a "watch the Aggie vs. tu game" party after Thanksgiving. So if you're within driving distance of the Houston area, we'd love to catch up with you guys!!!
