A Spiritually Formed Christmas

Our SF Group (which by now you should know stands for our Spiritual Formations Group from DTS) went to the Holiday Lights at Fair Park last weekend. The evening started out at a balmy 75 degrees and we were all in t-shirts and jeans, but the schizophrenic Texas weather quickly changed to a blistering breeze and found us all shivering. Despite all that we still had fun . . . mainly because we Danny for entertainment . . . and he is never boring.

First he should us how to grind on the railings . . .

Then, he found the kiddie corner and decided to build a toolbox. AND, somehow, even though the age limit said NO ONE OVER 12, Jenna and Danny both walked away with kits.

Yes, we believe in safety first, safety last and safety in the middle - so the disgusting chemistry goggles that had been worn by 4,000 grubby little kids before him are on Danny's face. No signs of pink eye yet.

Some of the SF Group proudly displaying their projects and cuddling to keep warm.

True to all Christmas events in Texas there was the token "Snow Hill." Just in case you wanted to go sledding in shorts if you wanted.

There also were reindeer, which are surprising small in size.

If our SF group were to ever send out a Christmas picture, this would be it. But don't be fooled - we never sit this still or this quietly.

And, because we will be meeting with these couples every Sunday for the next two years, you'll probably be seeing alot of them around here, so let me introduce everyone:

Luke & Becca
They are originally from New Hampshire (so they know about REAL cold weather), but they have also lived in Columbia, South Carolina - so they can share the best and worst of all things Sandlapper with us.

Josh & Laura
They are from Texas, also graduated from Texas A&M AND we share the same first name - so they are instant friends.

Joey & Jenna
They are from Iowa and our wonderful and fearless leaders.

Casey & Rachel
They are from Oregon and are the first in our group to pave the way into parenthood and will be adding a little one to our group next July.

And finally, yours truly.

All the pictures are here, go look.

Christmas is for children.
Who cares if you're a 20-something child?? Enjoy!
