Karley's Wedding Extravaganza
Karley, one of my college roommates, an original Dartmouth Doll, got married last month.
We have anticipated her wedding since her Christmas Day engagement and wouldn't have missed it for the world. Plus, this would be the first time back to Houston (where we had our first day EVER) since getting married.
On Friday, Danny, being the fabulous friend and all-around handy guy that he is, played secretary, answering Kar's phone and running errands, while I helped Kar decorate and get ready.
It's fun to be on this side of the wedding (the married side, the side that's not stressing over napkin colors) and remember the day that this ring went on this finger . . . and yes, that's his right hand. The left hand sustained box-lifting injuries and the doctor adviced removing the wedding band before the finger swole and it had to be cut off.
Could we resist playing with the camera during the wedding rehearsal?
Here's just another facial hair development for Dan the Man. A beard, in it's prickly stage. Trust me - it'll scratch you to death or to giggles.
The wedding day came without a hitch. I handed out programs at the door and half expected to see Beth Moore waltz right in (Kar house-sits for her), but there were no celebrity sitings.
This picture is for my Mom - it's the best one I could find of the bridesmaids' dresses.
Left to Right: Victor's daughter, Kar's sister-in-law, Kar's sister
The cutest ringbear EVER!
Victor, ever the musician, sang Kar a song he wrote. This was her first time to ever hear it.
He snuck a kiss during the prayer - and no - I wasn't praying with my eyes closed.
Danny and I with Mr. & Mrs. Victor Guadalupe
The other Dartmouth Doll, Lauren. People often asked not only if we were sisters, but twins. Really? Okay?
Danny and I stayed with Clint and Lauren for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed catching up on life, playing with their dog, and enjoying their new home.
Leaving to bubbles. Apparently all grooms make this face when leaving their wedding - someone needs to remind them they're being photographed! (Danny got pegged in the eye with rose petals - no one reminded the kids to toss and not chunk. Maybe someone forgot to blow their bubbles gently at Victor.)
Guestbook and Karley's portraits.
So now it's official - all the Dartmouth Dolls are hitched.
