Caddo Lake - Reeder Family Trips
I didn't grow up going skiing, to the beach or to Disney World. Our summer vacations consisted of long drives to Arizona in the heat of the summer to see my grandparents with a break halfway to ride flying saucers down sand dunes in West Texas.
Not your typical "family vacation," but we LOVED it! So much in fact that my brothers went back on their own!
So, it shouldn't surprise you to know that for years my family has gone to Caddo Lake in Uncertain, Texas for long weekend getaways.
It's basically a swamp . . . with moss . . . egrets . . . and fishing (much to the delight of my brothers).
It's not your typical "get-a-way" spot, but I won't complain about getting out of the city, having time to rest and read and enjoying time with my family.
Side Note: The youngest brother was present, but he'll make his Caddo Lake blog debut shortly.
And, since this trip occurred in late October (what better place to go for Halloween than a swamp - right?!) we decided to celebrate all the November birthdays in one-fell swoop.
You can see that Danny is delighted about homemade red velvet cake and Matthew's just a little apprehensive about having to share.
And, have you seen a better "blowing out candles" face?
