Cannon at 6 Months

Dear Cannon,
It seems like only yesterday that Great Grandma and I were so excited when Daddy sent us an email announcing your birth. Great Grandma and I were ecstatic with joy that you were here and that you and Mommy were fine. You are very special because among other things you are our first great grandchild, your Daddy was our first grandchild and Grandma Stiller was our first child. You and they are among a lot of firsts for us. Even though you were far away from us in Dallas your Mommy sent us so many pictures of you we felt almost as though you were right next door. We were able to watch you grow day by day. You were and are a big, beautiful, bouncing boy, quick to smile and a pleasure to be around.  I was thrilled beyond belief when Mom and Dad told me they were giving you your middle name of Henry after me, your great grandpa. It is such an honor to have such a fine boy as you to  be named after me.
We finally got to see you just before your first Thanksgiving Day when you and your Mom & Dad paid us a visit up here in New York.  We couldn't believe how big and playful and good you were at the ripe old age of 4 months. Really! You were something! With Grandma Stiller, we all went to visit your Uncle Mike, Aunt Ann and your cousin Olivia who was born a couple of weeks before. While there you also met for the first time your cousins Brianna, Alana, Steven & Bobby and your uncles Chris & Steven and aunts Antonietta and Lori. We all had a lot of fun watching you perform, particularly your Uncle Mike, your Dad and you on the skateboard.
Christmas has come & gone with a big snowstorm up here in New York. We remember when your Dad & Uncle Chris used to visit us when they were young and we would take them sleigh riding in Forest Park. Ask them to tell you about the fun they had sleighing down the "soup bowl."  Maybe some day you can come here in the winter when it snows and do the same with your Dad, uncles and cousins.  You'll have great fun too.
Last Memorial Day your Dad, Uncle Mike and I spent a few days in Florida, on the beach, fishing, bike riding, playing golf and other things for a wonderful time together. We caught a lot of fish on our first day there and had great fun eating it by the beach & pool after your Dad & Uncle Mike prepared it with various concoctions they invented as they went along. Hopefully some day we can all get together there and have some fun together.
Great Grandma and I love you dearly and look forward to watching you grow into a larger version of the wonderful boy you are at this writing. God bless you and keep you and always remain close to Him.

Your loving great grandparents,                                                                                                                            Marilyn & Hank
