Our Family This Month (February 2011)
February was a stabilizing month for our little family. Time was spent off the computer, enjoying each other face to face. We unloaded boxes and moved the location of our silverware to every different drawer in our kitchen. We've finally decided that we like the knives to the left of the stove. :-) New grocery stores have been discovered, new routes to work have been tried out, and I have yet to correctly estimate whether the traffic on 75 is going to be bad or good when I need to go to Baby Boot Camp or library story hour.
Danny and I had our 22nd quarterly review this month. Cannon spent the night with my parents while we stayed the night at Etta's Place in Sundance Square. It's always nice to get out of our normal setting and share a conversation over dinner without a baby crying, needing to be fed, or dropping his toy. We are learning what it looks like to be parents and husband/wife all at the same time.
This month we have enjoyed watching Cannon grow by leaps and bounds. He's becoming more and more interactive every day. Photos and videos can't adequately capture the joy of his giggle, the thrill of clapping for the first time, or the gagging reflex that occurs when I give my child broccoli. The weight and responsibility of disciplining are also starting to set in as Cannon clearly understands the word "No." He learned this month that he can push things he doesn't like away with his hand and that Daddy's glasses and Mommy's necklace are off limits to his prying little fingers.
And that was our last beautiful 28 days.
