Preschool: Pumpkin Month (Week 2)

In case you missed it, read about our earlier transportation adventures here:

This week in preschool our activities included:
  • Reading: pumpkin books
  • Pumpkin Activity: Made a simple beaded pumpkin AND threading orange and green apple jacks onto a string (or just eating Apple Jacks while your mom strings them into a necklace.
  • Sensory Activity: Played with pumpkin guts and pumpkin seeds. (We actually kept this in ziploc bags to contain the mess.)
  • Slow & Steady Get Me ReadyLet's go fishing!

Cut a hole in the plastic lid of a coffee can a little large than a clothespin. Attach a string to a clothespin. Show the child how to lower the clothespin into the coffee can and pull it up again. Different objects can be used, as can different sized objects with different sized lids.

Let it go down on the record that Julia LOVED the pumpkin guts sensory activity. The other kids quickly abandoned their bags of orange mess, but Julia gleefully played with them all!
