Cason - Week 27

Stats:
We went to the doctor this week for Cason's 6 month check up (and Cannon's 2 year check up) and found out Cason is topping the charts:
19 lbs (80%)
27.25" long (75%)
17.75" head circumference (80%)

Clothes:
6-12 months, with a few 18 month rompers thrown in the mix.
9 month footed pajamas are too small for the boy, so he's either wearing 12 month footed pjs or big boy pjs with no feet and no zipper. :-(

Diapers:
We've made the leap. I avoided this for at least a week because I just couldn't admit that my little baby wasn't so little any more. I finally adjusted ALL of the cloth diapers (except for the Flip Covers) to the largest setting. Both Cannon and Cason are wearing the same size All-in-One diapers and pocket diapers. I'm hoping Cason doesn't outgrow them before he's potty trained!

Schedule:
(same as last week)
Naps around 9:30 am, 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm.
Feedings around 6:30 am, 9:00 am, 12:30 am, 4:00 am, 7:00 pm

Sleeping:
We've given up the Woombie (a second time) for good. He just doesn't love being restrained and it doesn't help him sleep longer. He sleeps 13-14 hours at night (with a feeding around 6:30 am) so that's good enough for me.

Eating:
Cason had his FIRST taste of solid food this week. He gobbled up the mashed avocado like the good eater that he his. He also had peas for the first time and liked those!

I've decided to just feed pureed foods once a day until he can learn to feed himself finger foods, simply because I would never get to eat myself if I tried to spoon feed him 2-3 times a day. So, we'll do a modified "baby-led weaning" just like we did with Cannon.

He's still nursing about five times a day, every 3-4 hours

Talking:
(same as last week) Cooing, screeching, babbling.

Teeth:
Four: two top (almost, we're still waiting on the fourth to pop ALL the way through) and two bottom

Likes:
Pureed foods! He opened his mouth wide and gobbled down the avocado and peas we fed him.

Dislikes:
Being tired, hungry, or frustrated and lets us know by breathing rapidly through his nose. It's quite comical to see his flared little nostrils and hear his little breaths in and out (until it turns into a full on cry, that is!).

Health:
Everything, including vision and hearing, checked out great at Dr. McElroy's office this week.

Events/Milestones:
Starting solid foods was the big milestone this week and it looks like Cason's going to be a great eater like his big brother.

Cason went swimming for the first time this week and he LOVED it. Looks like we have another water baby on our hands!

Think the Stiller boys look similar? Check out: Cannon - Week 27
