Our Family This Month (March 2013)
The weather this month is finally starting to warm up, well some days. We'll have a few beautiful warm days following by rain and cold, but we were excited to get outside to play on the warmer days. Play dates are starting to resume after the holidays and the cold months and we are enjoying reconnecting with friends and playmates again.
Danny's family came in town at the beginning of the month and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Maggianos followed by a game of bowling to celebrate Lynn's birthday.
Danny and I left the boys with my parents for a weekend to attend a wedding in Austin, Texas. We stayed at the BEAUTIFUL Barton Creek Resort and enjoyed eating and reading all weekend. I took full advantage of time to read by the pool, read over coffee, and read in a lush bathtub. It was just the break we needed and the boys enjoyed more spoiling than they could even handle.
We are getting some work done our our home through the City of Allen which began this month. A new air conditioner/heating unit was put in and electricity and wiring issues were fixed. It's nice to have little, annoying quirks fixed and working properly.
The boys went on their first community Easter Egg Hunt at my parents church. I realized we hadn't properly explained the process when I asked Cannon "What are you going to do with your Easter Eggs when you find them?" and he replied with gusto, "SHOOT THEM!" I suppose that is a fair answer when the only "hunts" you've ever been taught are duck hunts and deer hunts. Just goes to show that he listens carefully when Daddy and uncles talk about their hunting expeditions Needless to say, we had a quick lesson on how to place eggs in our Easter basket before getting out of the car. I could just picture us getting kicked out of an Easter Egg hunt when our son started "shooting" eggs.
Easter was a beautiful day of church, naps, Easter egg hunts and dinner with family.
Happy March and welcome to Spring!
