Dallas Arboretum with Nana & Papa (Part 1)

Mom, Dad and I made a trek out to the Dallas Arboretum to enjoy the warm fall day and let the boys run out some of their energy. I thought I'd give you a glimpse of what it's REALLY like photographing two small children.

Sometimes photos of them NOT looking at the camera are much easier.

It takes 50 of these photos . . .
. . . to get this one "good" photo. (Your definition of "good" photo morphs as you have children!)
Sometimes you just photograph them throwing hay rather than try to make them behave in public.
Physical restraint is more often than not the only way to go from this . . .
. . . to this. (Remember those standards for a successful picture? They aren't even looking at the camera, but they look pleasant and that works for this mama!)
You would think that with the camera in their face all the time, my children would naturally look like this:
When in reality they usually are doing this:
And don't even get me started on this ham of a child.
He had to be a goofball for five full minutes before melting me this smile. Really, there are no cuter kids.
