Rucker & Kim's Wedding

Two weekends ago we travelled back to Texas to celebrate Rucker & Kim's wedding. Danny and Rucker have been friends since high school, through college, and despite the distance while Danny was at Texas A&M and Rucker was in Africa. Rucker was the first visitor to stay in our new apartment in Greenville when we were just newlyweds. It was during that visit that he told us he liked a girl named, Kim.

Danny enjoyed the bachelor party on Thursday night with a great scavenger hunt, dinner, Whirly Ball, and arcades at Game Works.

Friday night was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner with catered, Texas barbeque. It was good to be home!

Their rehearsal went off without a hitch (unlike ours), and we were off to eat in one hour. The church doors were unlocked when we arrived, their weren't 15 kids high on koolaid powder and sugar running around, and someone was remotely organized and bossy enough to tell people where to stand!

Saturday we spent at the church so Danny could take pictures, get ready, hang out, play games, and wait for the ceremony to start!

While the girls were getting ready, this is what the guys were doing outside:

playing football in their tuxedos.

And this is why they make tuxedos black and with so many layers: so you can't see the grass stains and so the sweat can't soak through.

The wedding was beautiful, the ceremony was traditional and yet so Spirit-filled, and everyone went off without a hitch. It was a great time of worship and of also remember our celebration one and a half years ago.

The reception was in a ballroom at the Lockhead Martin Recreation Center. The dancing was fun, the fellowship was sweet, and the cakes were delicious! Danny's friends from high school (the original SWO cast) were there, and it was great to catch up with everyone.
