Shandon Youth Food Fight
This post is going to give you great insight . . . not into anything important . . . but as to why we (Danny and Laura Stiller) work with youth.
I could over-spiritualize our motives and say we love to impact young, impressionable teens, which is true.
I could say that we desire to pass on the truth that the Lord is teaching us, which is also true.
Or I could say that we want to make a difference in a kid's life, just like someone made a different in ours.
All of this is true.
But sometimes, just sometimes, we work with youth because they play hard and do fun, crazy things where you end up looking like this:
That's right - the Shandon youth group held the biggest food fight of the year.
We started with water balloons, but quickly progressed to throwing handfuls of flour. It was a like a massive bake-off.
After the flour we moved on to dinner: spaghetti and red sauce.
And, after dinner we topped off the night with chocolate and vanilla pudding for dessert.
Here's the before shot:
And here's the after shot:
My hair stayed shockingly clean. I am a very fast dodger of all things messy.
And, if you aren't completely grossed out I will leave you with a few more pictures to make you smile.
Nate sharing his testimony and the Gospel before the madness.
With our Cross Training kids (minus Katherine & Craig).
Attemping to take a group picture afterwards.
Shivering after being sprayed down by the Columbia Fire Department. They don't heat the water in those hoses - we asked.
