Dallas Date Night #4 - Dallas Symphony Orchestra
And, the fabulously free dates in Dallas continue.
When you work at a non-profit, with generous donors and contributors, it makes free date nights very easy to come by.
My work received quite a few FREE tickets to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and Danny and I can never pass these up. Danny had never been to the symphony before last fall, and since then we have enjoyed almost half a dozen free performances.
This particular week we invited some friends, along with my brother and his girlfriend.
We enjoyed coffee and dessert in the foyer prior to the Tribute to Bernstein, courtesy of Jenna's generous grandparents.
Our seats were on the floor (we actually sat in chairs, not on the floor, just in case you were conjuring up a fantastic mental picture) with a great view, but during intermission Joey and Danny decided that we needed to see what the view was like from the top.
And this is it:
You must need binoculars to sit up this high. The musicians looked like ants scurrying around on the stage. Spoiled us. With our free tickets, we couldn't imagine having to sit that far away.
Jenna was scared of the height, but wouldn't be out-done by her husband, so here she is pretending that's she not scared of flying over the railing.
After taking these pictures our husbands, in suits and dress pants, promptly slid down the banisters.
I'm just going to let that sentence sink into your mind. Go ahead and create a mental image of that while you're at it. And then create a mental image of Jenna and I standing at the top of the Meyerson Symphony Center in such complete and utter shock that we couldn't run away fast enough to pretend we didn't know them. We just froze. And then laughed, a little, fake chuckle to try to cover up our sheer embarrassment.
You can dress a husband up, but you can't make him behave. I guess eating sugary chocolate cake immediately before having to sit through an hour-long performance makes for some very antsy boys. Either way, we had a good time with friends, and a few good laughs at our husbands.

That was fun! Boys will certainly be boys, won't they? :)
