Our Family This Month (May 2011)

We started off this month with our 23rd Quarterly Review (really, that's 5 1/2 years of marriage) at the Homeschool Book Fair in Arlington. One of the questions I've been getting the most (just after inquiries about Babywise and amber necklaces) is will we homeschool? (For those of you that don't know, I was homeschooled Kindergarten through 12th grade.) So, to overwhelm ourselves with all of the eduction options and to introduce Danny to this thing called "homeschool" we set off for a day of curriculum booths, catalog flipping and seminars on homeschool methodologies. We are no closer to making a decision (but hey, we only have four more years to prepare), we do have more talking points to help us choose what's right for our family.

I celebrated my first Mother's Day with a photo shoot with Cannon. And Cannon has been celebrating his tenth month by pulling up on everything.

In house news, we purchased a new rug and couch from Ikea and home is starting to feel more and more like "our home." It's fun to figure out our style and have a home to decorate.

Memorial Day weekend was spent doing yard work, shopping with Lynn and Joe, and grilling out with both of our families. Danny enjoyed a four-day weekend off of work, and we all enjoyed more time together.

Cannon closed out the month by coming down with a double ear infection and sharing his cold with the two of us - so we're ushering in June with lots of cuddles and rest in bed. Here's looking forward to a month of fun in the sun (and swim lessons!).
