Preschool: Pumpkin Month (Week 3)

This week in preschool our activities included:

• Reading: pumpkin books
• Pumpkin Activity: Made a paper plate pumpkin. Glued foam shapes onto an orange construction paper pumpkin to make a jack o' lantern.
• Sensory Activity: Mixed red and yellow paint to make orange.
• Slow & Steady Get Me Ready: Exploring with Dirt, Sand or Rice
  Let the child play in dirt, sand or rice with a mixing bowl, pail, wooden spoons, shovels, and assorted sizes of plastic containers. Talk about how the dirt/sand/rice feels. Show the child how to fill and empty the containers.

The kiddos really enjoyed playing (or tasting) the glue sticks and then peeling off the facial features more than creating a jack o' lantern.
