Dallas Date Night #17 - Ranger's Game

Danny and I are not the biggest sports fans. I've never been to a Maverick's game. He watches football so he can chat with the guys. We've given up on our Aggies altogether.

So, when our friend called with free Rangers' tickets a few weeks ago, we took him up on his offer. We were already planning to have a date night in the nose bleed section of the Ball Park in Arlington, why not save our $6 for a hot dog?

What I didn't realize is that there are a few levels of baseball watching.
There's baseball on the television, which was a nightly ritual in my house growing up. So much so that I even practiced my score-keeping abilities in one of my Dad's scorebooks while watching the Rangers on TV.

Then there's the bleacher seats, which are fun, but a little distracting since the action is miniscule.

And then, there is baseball from the second row behind home plate.

That, my friends, is how baseball was meant to be watched. You're so close that you can see Nolan Ryan sitting in his box above the dugout.

You're also in prime real estate to get yourself on tv. So, what did we do - called Mom and Dad. They immediately flipped over to the Rangers came and waved at us. We waved back.

And then they called . . . to ask how we were enjoying our ice cream, to say they saw us again, to say they liked my haircut, to . . . well, you get the idea. It was like watching the Rangers on candid camera. I only scratched my nose in between innings to ensure my family was on commercial break.

Here's a picture just for Jenna:
